Considering traveling overseas is a difficult proposition, especially if you need to visit China. People are reluctant to travel to the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak. As a migration agent, we would like to throw some light on how to travel in the times of the pandemic.
What is the coronavirus?
Coronavirus is a term used for the collection of viruses that originate from animals, which can be transmitted to humans. The name has been derived from the Latin word “corona,” due to the crown-shaped strain of the virus. The novel coronavirus has spelled doom for the patients as it proves to be fatal for the patient. However, it is not a deterrent for people who wish to travel to Australia. There are only seven confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia in contrast to the other parts of the world reeling under the outbreak.
Traveling safe
Although one must avoid traveling to highly affected areas, you can travel to a safe location. There has been an official ban on travellers from the affected areas and people with symptoms have been quarantined.

Travel insurance and Coronavirus
If you purchased your insurance before the coronavirus outbreak, that is before January 23, 2020, you’re most likely to get the insurance. However, you will have to be careful that some policies might exclude epidemics, pandemics or infectious diseases.
If you have a travel insurance cover but would like to cancel your travel plans, you’ll have to contact your provider and discuss all the details. If, however, you decide to keep your travel plans, you must check the related alerts issued by the insurance provider before leaving.
In case you don’t have travel insurance, then you will have to travel according to the terms of the concerned airline or travel agency.
